Imagine this: the final moments of your life. Your entire journey flashes before your eyes, and in those fleeting seconds, you may wonder, what if I had lived differently?
I had this realization while on the elliptical at the gym just a few days ago. It was a surreal moment—my body moving, but my mind still. In that stillness, these truths rushed in:
Let go of fears and let love in.
Cherish every moment with family.
Be of service to others.
Cultivate more kindness to myself and to all.
Let go of assumptions about what others might be thinking.
Worry less.
Step off the hamster wheel of constant striving.
Trust the flow of life, as it’s unfolding just as it should.
Have faith in the Universe’s plan. It has taken care of me all these years, and it will continue to do so going forward.
And then, the real question hit me: What’s stopping me from living this way, right now? None of us knows when our time is up, and today is as perfect a day as any to begin living life on our own terms.
When the time comes for me to take my final breath, I want my last words to be: “This was a thrilling ride.” It would be a sorrowful tragedy to wish otherwise!
So, why wait? Live fully, live now.
