Must I live in a "Dog eats Dog" world?

Human beings are considered at the top of evolution hierarchy. Our every action is led by an intention which brings about the effect. When we are in the grip of a desire, we contract. Certain actions such as generosity or kindness expand us and nourish our soul.

In a "dog eats dog" world, we act from the place of gaining external power which is infused with fear. This fear comes from the place of losing our worldly power such as wealth, material goods, or fame. Here, we work from the principle of where someone's gain is someone else's loss. Such quest for external power solidifies our egos leading to violence, enmity, wars, and destruction. In this state, we are contracted.

There is another way to live which is from the place of reverence - reverence for all life. In this domain, we tap into our internal power where we see the source of all life as one. This internal power gives us the purpose to be joyful, no matter what. People who live from this place of power do not hurt any living thing intentionally because they understand that they will be hurting themselves. They live from the place of expansion and love. To live in this place is to understand the meaning of the line "I will kiss the ground that you walk on baby", or to hug a tree, or to have a kind heart towards all life.

No, we do not need to live in the "Dog eats Dog" world. We can live in a world where all life matters, and is revered! Where we claim our internal power! This is the place where great saints and mystics live from.
